The Southeast Missouri State University program is open to any student interested in cultivating his or her communication skills. Past competitive experience is not expected. In addition, student win/loss records are not used to decide who will travel to tournaments. All students committed to the philosophy of NEDA (i.e. that debate should be a communicative, civil, and socially responsible activity) and willing to complete the necessary preparatory research are eligible to travel.
