Who Can Choose Parent Representatives for Shared Decision Making Teams?
The State of New York mandates that a local, non-profit parent organization choose the parent representatives who serve on each school district’s Shared Decision Making (SDM) Team. In Potsdam, this organization is the Potsdam PTA. This does not mean that parent representatives must be members of the Potsdam PTA. This means only that the Potsdam PTA coordinates the selection of new parent representatives.
