• Up through 2007, we generally treated patients that are up to -15 diopters of myopia, up to +6 diopters of myopic cylinder, up to +4 diopters of hyperopia, or up to +4 diopters of hyperopic cylinder. Our highest mixed astigmatism is about -6 diopters. These numbers may vary depending upon our goal with our patient. Some patients are happy to be have their astigmatism reduced and to correct spherical residual prescriptions with glasses or spherical contact lens. Since that time, and the development of SBK LASIK, we have been treating many of our patients with hyperopia of over 3 diopters and myopia of over 10 diopters with this procedure. The graphs shown below indicate the improvement of hyperopic Epi-Laser vision correction seen in our results in the 2007 studies. Please note that a slight early over correction occurs producing initial slight near-sightedness and markedly exaggerated improvement in near vision which over time, two weeks or so, results in marked high performance dist
