You must be 18 year of age on or prior to the first day of class. You must have an academic high school diploma or GED. You must be admitted to Cleveland State Community College prior to admission to EMT class. Priority for admission into the EMT class is given to the following individuals who serve in a “first response” capacity. Fire department personnel, ambulance personnel, police personnel, lifeguard personnel, EMT personnel, and Emergency Room nurses. All others will be assigned space as available. Students must maintain a current card denoting successful completion of a professional rescuer CPR course while in the EMT class. Please note that a criminal background check is a requirement at the affiliated clinical sites for training. Based on the results of these checks, an affiliated clinical site may determine to not allow your presence at their facility.
