Certification bodies or registrars such as BSI, DNV, LRQA and NSAI each need to be appointed as a Recognised Certification Body by IATF. Only recognised certification bodies can issue certificates, which satisfy the supporting vehicle manufacturers. These recognised organisations are in various levels of preparation to be able assess quality systems against ISO/TS 16949.
