Who can apply for an extra-duty assignment?
Any certified teacher may apply for an extra-duty assignment. In the event an extra-duty position is unable to be filled by a certified teacher, the school may request the Superintendent to approve the employment of a person(s) holding a provisional or standard teaching certificate, or having a minimum of sixty-four (64) semester hours of college credit with the minimum GPA of 2.5 to obtain a substitute teaching certificate known as a paraprofessional. Each paraprofessional hired under this provision shall be approved by the Board of Education.
