Applicants for statewide promotional examinations must meet ALL four of the following criteria: · Be a current state employee. · Have permanent status in the classified service.(*) · Have six months current or former state service.(**) · Meet all the Experience and Training requirements as detailed on the examination announcement. (*) It should be noted that state employees who are currently employed in the unclassified service may be eligible to participate in statewide promotional examinations if they have previous permanent status in the classified service and have current status as a state employee and meet all of the other criteria listed above. (Service must have been continuous.) It should be noted that all employees in the Judicial and Legislative Departments are in the unclassified service and many employees at the state colleges and universities are in the unclassified service.
