Who Can Apply For a New Brunswick Birth Certificate?
Original or replacement birth certificates may be released to: • The person whose birth is registered; or • A person whose name appears as a parent on the registration of the birth, if the person whose birth is registered is 18 years of age or younger; or • A guardian of the person whose birth is registered, if the person whose birth is registered is 18 years of age or younger (custodial guardians must provide a copy of guardianship papers); or • A person who has written authorization from a person described above.
