Who can adopt a parrot from FFARRA?

0

FFARRA has no set rules as to what kind of person or household will be accepted as an adoptive home for one of our birds. We have certain guidelines and principles, but each application for adoption is assessed individually. This means that in each case the decision is determined according to what is best for the parrot. What are the conditions of adoption? Every adoptive home must agree that if ever they are not able to keep the parrot – for whatever reasons – they will return the bird to the care of FFARRA. Under no circumstances can a bird adopted from FFARRA be sold or given away; the bird must come back to our shelter. FFARRA will then determine whether it is best for that bird to be placed in a new home or to remain at the shelter. Applicants must also agree that the bird they are adopting will NOT be used for breeding. FFARRA’s objective is to help control the number of unwanted birds, and consequently this means that our birds will not breed. Anyone adopting a bird from FFARRA
