Who bought Camp Glen Gray?
Bergen County has purchased Camp Glen Gray from the NNJC in a deal orchestrated by the Trust for Public Land, a national nonprofit land conservation organization. TPL negotiated the purchase of the property and directed the deed to Bergen County. As the new owner, the county will steward the land and manage it in conjunction with approximately 3,000 adjacent acres that it already owns in the Ramapo Mountains. TPL put together a public-private partnership of diverse funders such as the County of Bergen, the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program, and the Trust for Public Land through grants from the Victoria Foundation, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and private contributions.
