Who attends the IEP meeting?
The IEP team consists of the child’s parents or guardians, all his/her teachers, a school official that is qualified to supervise special education, and the school psychologist/counselor. If the child is receiving additional help outside of school (such as speech therapy, psychological therapy or the like), it may be helpful if the therapist attends as well. Parents may also bring an advocate, attorney or other representative to ensure that the IEP contains everything that the child needs to succeed.
