Who attends the Dances?
Generally between 350 and 600 singles attend the Friday dances, with the number being higher if a live band is performing. The ratio of men and women is usually well balanced and the age group is primarily 40s to 60s, although there are some younger and older folks as well. These are nice, boy-next-door, girl-next-door kinds of people, polite and easy going. For many people part of the appeal of the dances is the interesting variety of singles and the new people each week. About 40% of the people come for the first time because a friend brought them; it’s a friendly crowd.
