Who are the Texas Rollergirls?
The Texas Rollergirls are the originators of Flat Track Derby. We started the sport in Austin, Texas and it’s spread to hundreds of cities around the world. Our founders revised the old school rules, designed the track, and set the standard for what a Rollergirl can be in the new milliennium. We have four home teams: Hell Marys: Naughty parochial school girls in red plaid Honky Tonk Heartbreakers: Rodeo sweethearts in red and gingham Hotrod Honeys: A rough-and-tumble girl gang in black and pink Hustlers: Seventies divas in purple and silver We have an all-star travel team called the Texecutioners, made up of members from all four home teams. This team competes in inter-league play and tournaments. The Texecutioners took the first national Flat Track Derby title at the 2006 Dust Devil Tournament in Tucson, Arizona in February, 2006.
