Who are the reviewers of the Transactions?
There are 1500 reviewers and a little more than half of this number review papers each year. Those who have reviewed manuscripts of the Transactions within the last 12 months are regarded as Members of the Editorial board and listed on the inside back cover of the Transactions. There are about 800 members of the editorial board. The reviewers are selected from experts who are active in the MTT Society or who have led the authorship of papers in the Transactions. It is unlikely that the reviewers have not published in the transactions or have been engaged in a similar and related intellectual activity. Reviewers who do not provide thoughtful reviews, or have held up the editorial process by not replying in a timely manner are not considered and dropped from the reviewerd list. It should be noted that this is rare. Nearly every reviewer makes thoughtful comments and many make comments `For the Editor’s Use Only.’ This is discouraged but often there is good reason for this.
