Who are the other key bodies in the National Park movement?
Involvement in policy debates by the National Park Authorities is now made at the country level. ENPAA has therefore been established for England and WANPA (Welsh Association of National Park Authorities) has been established for Wales. Scotland does not have a similar body at this time. The UK Association of National Park Authorities (UK ANPA) – whose role previously included external advocacy with decision makers – now focuses on promoting all fourteen National Parks across the UK as beacons for sustainable development. They also work internally to facilitate training and promote best practice for Members and staff. The Campaign for National Parks (CNP) is the national charity that works to protect and enhance the National Parks of England and Wales, and areas that merit National Park status, and promote understanding and quiet enjoyment of them, for the benefit of all.
