Both of the lead actors in Twilight have been in numerous other films, but they have certainly achieved a whole new level of fame after being cast in Twilight. Robert Pattinson(Edward) was previously best known for playing Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. Many fans(including me) were not at all happy with the casting of Pattinson when it was announced and felt he would not be able to capture the character of Edward properly. However, public opinion has largely turned on this matter and most fans will now concede that Pattinson did a fine job in the role. ( I went in expecting to be disappointed and I was instead really impressed with the great job he did in the role. I really do think he makes a great Edward.)
