Who are the members of “Them Crooked Vultures”?
Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones – of the Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Led Zeppelin respectively – have named their new supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. The band is set to make its live debut on Sunday in Chicago, and an album is expected to follow. Homme’s partner, singer Brody Dalle, told website Antiquiet.com of the collaboration: “I think it is pretty f*cking amazing, just beats and sounds like you’ve never heard before.” The project has been a long time coming. Grohl told Mojo as early as 2005 he was trying to get Homme and Jones to form a band with him, saying it “wouldn’t suck”. Grohl has already collaborated with Homme, most notably on the Queens of the Stone Age’s 2002 record Songs For the Deaf. Jones is no stranger to collaborations either, having worked with REM, the Rolling Stones, Brian Eno, the Butthole Surfers and many more. He also produced New Zealand band the Datsuns’ second album, Outta Sight,
After numerous online speculations about Foo Fighters‘ Dave Grohl, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, and Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme forming a supergroup, it turns out that the rumors are ACTUALLY true! The three musicians collectively call themselves Them Crooked Vultures and apparently, they’ve been working on a studio album for three years. If you’re happy with that mere tidbit, then you’ll be stoked to hear that Them Crooked Vultures have potentially been booked to play Lollapalooza’s aftershow! Perhaps this also will soothe fans of the Beastie Boys and those not-much-fans of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The band name wasn’t officially announced but the sign above with the three symbols each representing 1/3 of the supergroup was posted. Sources: http://beatcrave.
