Up until August 2009, the band members of Pennywise are Jim Lindberg (singer), Fletcher Dragge (guitars), Randy Bradbury (bass) and Byron McMackin (drums). These four members remained constant from 1996-2009. In August 2009, Lindberg the vocalist decided that he was leaving the band and no replacement has been announced yet.
A past replacement that had to be made concerned the original bassist, Jason Thirsk, who unfortunately had to be replaced after he committed suicide in 1996 due to his rampant alcoholism. Thirsk had been with the band since it formed in 1988.
Pennywise is an American punk rock group from Hermosa Beach, California. Their band name is a tribute to the Stephen King novel, "It". Pennywise was the monster’s name.
