The three main credit bureaus are: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The credit bureaus gather, store, and sell information about consumers’ credit histories to help establish a consumer’s credit worthiness. The credit bureaus are also private for-profit companies that gather the information about consumers and then sell it to businesses that are legally permitted to see your credit report.
