Who are the LTTE?
“The LTTE is one of the terrorist outfits most deeply involved in the trafficking of drugs and weapons. It is the outfit that invented the system of suicide attacks, and has then exported it to the Middle East. With this method, they have killed two Heads of State (another of their records): former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Ghandi (son of Indira Ghandi) and husband of Sonia Maino assassinate in 1991 and our President Ranasinghe Premadasa in 1993. President Chandrika Kumaratunga survived an attack but lost an eye due to the explosion. They are the three leaders who sought a political solution to the conflict. Rajiv Ghandi had freed Prabhakaran, the leader of the LTTE, from the prisons of Madras, who in turn promised to accept the peace deal and lay down their weapons.
