Definition – Goals – Activities – Newsletter – Membership The Humanists of the San Joaquin Valley (HSJV) is a chapter of the American Humanist Association (AHA), a national Humanist organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C. Our general mission is to advance the values and ideals of Humanism by earnestly practicing its principles within ourselves, in our immediate families, in our interaction with our local communities and the world at large, and by organized group effort. Recognizing the value in shared diversity, HSJV welcomes the introduction of new lines of thought, affirming that free inquiry leads to informed belief, informed belief leads to understanding, understanding leads to problem solving and problem solving leads to peaceful living.
