Who are the EMTs who work with Rice EMS?
The majority of the REMS EMTs are full time students who have Texas certification as Emergency Medical Technicians. These individuals volunteer their time to ensure that the Rice community has the very best and most efficient emergency response available. Some of our EMTs are Rice staff members or cross-trained police officers. The EMS department is overseen by a full-time EMS Director that reports directly to the Chief of the Rice University Police Department.
