The Barefoot Architects is a nonprofit organization formed in 2000 dedicated to improving the living conditions of low-income families around the world. To meet this goal, BA creates new affordable homes through self-help construction, rehabilitates substandard housing, develops multi-family units and assists rural and urbane low-income communities to secure safe drinking water, wastewater disposal, organic vegetable gardens, cooperatives and promoting their produce in the fare trade market.
