Who are some of the people involved in determining which schools may need to be involved in the Boundary Process? And, what factors are taken into consideration?
Participation of stakeholders at the earliest point in the boundary process is critical. District staff examines current enrollment, projected enrollment, programmed facility improvements, special programs such as Exceptional Student Education clusters and Magnet Programs, class size reduction, student reassignment information, and feeder school patterns. This information is also used to determine which schools will need to address short-term interventions for schools moving toward critical student over-enrollment. District staff will present data, discuss concurrency and class size, and inform the community that a boundary change may be needed. Schools projected to not meet Level of Service or anticipated to not meet class size targets are recommended by the Superintendant to be included in the boundary process.
