Who are some great Marine generals, or famous Marines period?
Sgt Maj. Edgar Huff. He is now deceased, but he was the first African-American in Marines Corps. He started his career at Monford Point. That was a segregated Marine unit back in the 40’s. He was also the first African American to be a Sergeant Major. I am listing him because he was a kind and interesting man who I had the pleasure of meting before he passed. I put a link to his bio. Just remember there are everyday heroes. He did live a remarkable and the Marines are better because he was there. I was personally touched by this man so I am nominating him as the greatest Marine I knew.
