Brooke Alfaro is most famous Panamanian artist of the past 10 years. Fundamentally a painter, his work combines references to colonial art with Caribbean fantasy. Alfaro has also delved into the field of video with notable success, winning first prize in the First Latin American and Caribbean Video Art Competition and Exhibition organized by the IDB Cultural Center in 2002.
