Who are Sitos Angels?
Katie Deep, or Sito as she was called by her great-grandchildren passed away on May 22, 2005 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Since 2003, her family has taken part in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk, forming a team called Sito’s Angels. Since 2005, they have been the top fundraising family at the Mohawk Valley Memory Walk. This golf tournament is a tribute to Katie Deep, an avid golfer and devoted parent, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren wrote this in her memory: Nearly four years ago, we formed our team, “Sito’s Angels,” in honor of our grandmother, Katie Deep. At that time, Katie, or “Sito”, as she was lovingly called by her great-grandchildren, was in the midst of a heart-wrenching battle with Alzheimer’s disease. “Sito” was a strong, energetic woman with many interests.
