Who are seraphims and what happens if all seven are summoned?
Seraphim (plural for seraph, as stated in a previous answer) are considered the highest order of angels. Their proximity to the essence of God is why they are described as burning or being made of fire. There are actually quite a few more than 7, but as with the archangels, there are several ‘famous’ or named ones, including Raphael, Gabreal, Michael, Uriel/Ariel, and Samael. As for being summoned, a Seraphim doesn’t show up for just any old occasion. Because a Vice-President doesn’t spend all day answering the phone or sorting through the company’s mail (they have underlings for that) Seraphim usually have other things to occupy their time even during a summons. That doesn’t mean, to continue the vp metaphor, that they won’t answer a summons or will categorically refuse to appear, but its much more likely that a lesser, but still powerful, presence will attend instead.
