Who are QD Technologys major competitors?
QD is a unique product in the database marketplace today with no known competitors. While there are database accelerators, they are hardware-based solutions, or a mix of hardware and software and they only accelerate the database. They do not provide secure, compressed, local, read-only copies to the desktop or laptop. In many cases, accelerators are generally specific, niche-based tools that only work with one database, one kind of data, or one portion of a database’s data. QD works with any ODBC-compliant database. Other products, such as traditional RDBMS’s, business intelligence, or reporting tools are not competitors. QD takes the data that they manage or operate upon, and makes it available 24/7 while generally speeding up the work that these other applications already do. QD’s advantage over all of these solutions comes from the balance between data accessibility, compression, and performance enhancement.
