Who Are GFI Promotions?
GFI Promotions is a company run by a man with a fine pedigree in the music business. He began his plugging career with Anchor and ABC records, promoting such acts as Don Williams, Ace and Alice Cooper. Next was CBS Records (Now owned by Sony) where he carried out promotions for many artists including Meatloaf, Billy Paul, Denise Williams, Bonnie Tyler, Toto, Billy Joel and Julio Iglesias. GFI Promotions received gold discs for many of the above acts. The act of getting Iglesias’s “Begin the Beguine” in the UK charts was probably one of GFI’s greatest successful challenges as it was practically the opposite to the trend in the charts at the time. After leaving CBS, GFI’s CEO took positions as Head of Promotion at MCA and Gem Records.
