Who approves amendments to the Zoning By-law?
The Planning Committee, a committee of City Council, considers zoning amendments. The public may attend and participate in these meetings. (See Accessing City Council). The decision to approve or reject an application is made by City Council after considering the recommendations of the Planning Committee and the Planning and Development Department. If a formal objection to City Council’s decision is submitted, the ultimate decision will be made by the Ontario Municipal Board.
