Who appoints the Board of Directors for Canadian Blood Services?

Their selections reflect a range of key stakeholders’ interests—scientific, medical, consumers, etc. The Canadian Blood Services Board operates at arm’s length from government. The sole mission of Canadian Blood Services is to ensure a safe, secure, cost effective, affordable and accessible supply of quality blood, blood products and their alternatives. To avoid conflicts of interest, no public servants may serve on the Canadian Blood Services Board.
