The problem is that the whole idea of becoming an MP attracts the wrong type of person. Once elected they get power crazed, abandon their morals and beliefs in the never-ending quest for more power. MPs forget that they are elected by US to run Britain for US and they work for US. Once infested with the ‘power virus’ they will go to any lengths to satisfy their power greed and Britain and its people are a long way down their list of concerns. How did Mandelson suddenly become a LORD? If you are a true socialist the whole idea of these silly schoolboy titles is an anathma. Blair abandoned Britain in a vain quest for wealth.
