Who advises CIHI about potential MIS Standards revisions?
The Technical Working Group provides CIHI with expert technical advice on the development, maintenance and effective implementation of the MIS Standards across the continuum of health service delivery. The working group is composed of provincial and territorial MIS Coordinators. Additional members from the field may be added at CIHI discretion. The Strategic Steering Committee sets strategic directions for MIS Standards development activities. It advises CIHI to ensure that the data standard and its outputs are relevant and useful for decision-making. The steering committee includes members from each provincial/territorial ministry of health, as well as chief financial officers of health service organizations, with expertise in financial and statistical reporting. Additional members with specific expertise may be added at CIHI discretion.
