Who administers the Historic District and what is the review process for projects?

0

The Historic District Council, supported by City Staff, administers review for projects located in the Historic Districts. Please see How to Apply to the HDC for details. ALL projects are required to submit an HDC application, except those that meet the following three criteria: 1) project is repair or maintenance related, 2) project does not change the visual appearance of the building, and 3) project does not need a building permit. Depending on the project as determined in Section 11.03.09(B) of the City’s Land Development Code, staff or the Board conduct the review. Staff-level review generally takes 2-3 days, while a hearing before the Council requires an application be submitted 45 days in advance of the next hearing date. For more information, please contact the CDD at 904-277-7325 or see Section 11.03.09(B) of the City Land Development Code.
