Who actually collects the cord blood at the time of my babys birth?
Your obstetrician or your midwife. If you don’t have an obstetrician, Biocell has a team of Midwives available to perform collections at most hospitals. Our Biocell Midwives are also available to speak to parents face-to-face about cord blood banking and Biocell’s services. All Biocell Midwives are highly experienced nurses and/or midwives, and will ensure that the collection and transport of your baby’s cord blood goes smoothly. So that we can ensure that your obstetrician or midwife are trained in the collection technique and equipment used by Biocell, we recommend that you should register as early as possible in your pregnancy.
