While trying to install sciPROOF , I received the following error message: “ERROR: Installation detected that spell checker component is not installed or is damaged.”. What does this mean?

This means that Microsoft Word 2003, 2002 or 2000 spellchecking components are not installed or are damaged. You need to start installation of Microsoft Office and install/repair the spellchecking components. Please see “Proofing Tools” from the “Office Shared Features” section.
