The background estimator needs certain quantities from the filter file to estimate the background event rate. Due to the different ways science and housekeepign data are formatted and telemetered, the science data will occasionally extend for a short period beyond the filter file. Pcabackest allows for 32 seconds of “slop” over which it will extrapolate for the missing housekeeping. If the science data extend slightly longer past the filter file, you can increase the amount of slop tolerated by pcabackest using the hidden parameter “timeslop”. If the shortfall is more than a few minutes, however, you may be using an incorrect filter file for the input data. Do you have a new version of the PCADTLC script that will run on the current version of FTOOLS?
