While running DVDIdle, the DVD playback is very jerky. Why?
You should check the DMA settings of your DVD drive and hard disk. DMA ( Direct Memory Access ) will dramatically reduce the CPU usage when transferring data. If a high speed drive is not using DMA, it will never reach it’s rated speed. This results in decreased performance, since the DVD device depends entirely upon the speed of the CPU. You can download a free utility DVDSpeed to test your DVD drive’s real speed. If it’s lower than 3x, DVDIdle cannot work properly.
