A. You can install IPM 4.2 and then uncheck the Enable Auto Mode from Auto Allocation Settings in IPM before restoring the IPM 2.6 data to IPM 4.2. This will ensure that only IPM devices are available in IPM. However if you want both IPM and Common Services devices to appear in IPM, you can install IPM 4.2 and then check the Enable Auto mode and select Manage All devices from Auto Allocation Settings in IPM before restoring the IPM 2.6 data to IPM 4.2.
