An influence of an Air sign would cause this. Air signs are intrigued by puzzles and riddles, they like to find the mystery in everything. To them, you aren’t their friend or lover but a guinea pig for experiments so they can learn from your reactions. I noticed this mainly in Aquarius, but it is prominent in any Air sign.
