Which works better:Betaderm or Betamethasone?
I have Psoriasis so have been seeing a Psoriasis Nurse for 8 weeks. Betaderm and Betamethasanone are both steroid creams. I do not know what the restriction are where you reside, but trying to get any high strength steroid cream without prescription is impossible here. Most you can get is 1%, whereas on prescription that can increase to 5 or 10%. That is the good news. The bad news, steroid rebound! Yes just because it is a cream, you will still have to wean your skin onto it and then wean your skin off it. I am weaning my Psoriasis off the steroid cream and am having the flare as expected, but hope within the next four weks to be ‘better’ than before I started the treatment. Much depends on what the ‘skin’ problem is and then that decides the treatment. However while you think it is easy as ‘rub the cream on’ after 33 years of Psoriasis, with the help of the Nurse, I am at last so much better than in the past 33 years of trying to do it myself.
