Which Wooden Train Track Sets Are As Good As Brio?
What follows is by necessity, a subjective answer. Brio makes very popular toy wooden train tracks and engines, from machined (usually beech) wood. The quality is high, but so is the cost. Most people who have bought the equivalent (much cheaper and compatible) products from Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury have been very satisfied with them and felt they were good value for money. Other sources are more variable in quality. A traditional wooden toy maker may deliver quality equivalent to Brio. But the quality of stuff bought on a street market or in a charity shop is more hit and miss. Sometimes you can pick up bargain Brio-compatible items second hand (Ebay). But sometimes items sold on Ebay can be bought cheaper new if only you knew where to look (I see a lot of Tesco wooden trainset stuff go for double the new RRP — if not more — on Ebay).
