Which way is best to educate our children?
Many private schools do not require their teachers to be credentialed. All they need is a bachelor’s degree in anything (e.g. engineering, business adminitration, etc.) Because they do not have to go through the credentialing program, they do not receive training in methods and curriculum that credentialed teachers do. So think about this. Parents pay a lot of money to send their children to schools in which the teachers are not as highly qualified. Private school teachers earn a fraction of the salary that their public scool counterparts earn, so who is benefitting from the high tuition costs that parents pay? And, at least in California, public schools do not use state-adopted curriculum. In many cases, they buy or are given the textbooks that public school no longer use because public schools adopt new series every 7 years. I would not want my child getting a hand-me down education. In order to make sure that your chld receives the bst education possible, parents must be involved. T
