Which was worse – the Genocide of Native Americans or slavery of African-Americans?
It is very close, but I will go w/ American Indians as well considering they have been subjected to oppression much longer (not to mention they were used as slaves also). There is also a larger population of African-Americans than American Indians and African-Americans have never outnumbered whites (American Indians once had a vast population which outnumbered the white man). One thing most Americans do not realize is that there is “most likely” some American Indian ancestry in any American whose family has been in the U.S. for over a century but there are not many American Indians who speak indigenous languages and adhere to tribal traditions. Also, American Indians have been given some reparations for the U.S.’ actions against them while African-Americans may very well never get their rightful reparations.
