Which video capture cards do not work with ShowShifter?
ShowShifter does not currently support DVB or satellite cards. Some video capture cards include built-in Mpeg2 hardware encoding. At the moment, ShowShifter does not support the hardware encoding functionality of these cards. Although we don’t currently support the hardware encoding functionality, ShowShifter does support the TV tuner capabilities of these cards. For ShowShifter to work with these cards we need the cooperation of card manufacturers before we can use the hardware encoding/decoding. At the moment the licensing costs surrounding MPEG2 make it prohibitively expensive for such functionality to be included with ShowShifter.
