The Videoconferencing Technology Advisory Service (VTAS) is planning a survey of video capture cards and other hardware for AG nodes. Until this is done, we suggest you research the AG-Tech mailing list archives, which is a list for open technical discussions regarding AG technology. There have been many threads in the past that have dealt with this topic. In addition to this, we have two specific pieces of advice: The first is regarding the Winnov Videum capture card, which we have used for Windows nodes with good results. Note that a patched version of the VideoProducerService (available here) is required when using more than one of these cards with a Windows node. The second is regarding Hauppage capture cards. If you are going to run Linux on your video machine, this is a good choice as there are working drivers available for the 878 chipset (as yet, there are no drivers for Linux for the 881 chipset).
