Ordinarily I would grudgingly admit that anything about University of Michigan is worth noting, being a Michigan State alumnus and fan, but I do have to admit that from 2004 and 2008, Phelps attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan (boo! Hiss!!!). What can I say? His tastes in schools are questionable, I guess, but he must have done something right there! He studied sports marketing and management, which looks like it’s paying off with his endorsement deals! Phelps said he intends to return to Baltimore following the 2008 Olympics to work with the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. In 2004, Phelps left North Baltimore Aquatic Club with Bob Bowman to train at the University of Michigan for Club Wolverine.
