Which U2 album is the best place to start?

I like U2 best when they aren’t out so save the world, so I love Boy (1980). It’s a more personal record that takes on the theme of adolescence, and “Out of Control” is undoubtedly one of the best singles of the early New Wave era (not to discount “I Will Follow” which is also fantastic). For their later works I most enjoy “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” which is another very personal record dealing with loss (except for the dreadful “New York”–Bono, I’m sorry, but I just don’t care about your spiffy new co-op). But yeah, if you really want to delve into the messianic side of the band, I guess Joshua Tree is the best place to start.
