Which type of doctor gets paid more?
A surgeon is a type of medical doctor. They both have the advanced degree called Doctor of Medicine (unless the surgeon went to medical school to get a Doctor of Osteopathy degree – they can be surgeons, too). Specialists in surgery often have additional training and can make more money than someone who just has their basic medical degree, but that’s not always true. Some non-surgical specialties pay more than surgeons make.
